You might not think of Spartanburg, South Carolina as being at the epicenter of HIV infection, but it is: South Carolina ranks 9th in the United States for the total number of HIV and AIDS cases. The federal government recently highlighted Spartanburg as a geographical area most impacted by the HIV epidemic.

Fortunately, Spartanburg is also home to one of the nation’s most active and progressive AIDS Services Organizations, Piedmont Care, Inc. The agency recently enrolled its 800th client. It offers comprehensive services to people with HIV or AIDS, including case management, medical care, medication assistance, transportation, dental care, and much more.

In the words of one of their clients, “These blessed souls are doing mighty work and want to support, assist and help you to the best of their abilities, which are vast.”
